Standing atop the roof of the Isle of Capri’s south tower hotel in Bettendorf, longtime casino employees on Wednesday fought gusty winds for panoramic views of the resort’s growing riverfront campus.
Down below, steel workers stomped through puddles and mud as they raised steel frames to pave way for the future land-based casino between the resort’s north and south tower hotels. Nearby, masonry crews expanded the perimeter wall with cinder blocks.
“We’re basically building a building inside a building,” Nancy Ballenger, vice president and general manager of the property, said during a tour of the casino’s grounds. Read more here.
